New Zealand joins Madrid

The Kiwi was so excited about the possibility of a Madrid Protocol application that he had to have a little sit down

Whilst I am about two weeks late writing this, New Zealand has now acceded to the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks as of 10 September 2012. As a result from 10 December 2012 ‘International Registrations’ can be extended to designate New Zealand.

This is certainly a long time coming and I anticipate a flurry of extensions to cover the land of the long white cloud.
